Questions people ask before hiring a web designer
Straight answers first, details after. If yours isn't here, ask me — the consultation is free.
How is the price of a website decided?
It depends on the type of site, the number of pages, the features and how ready your content is. Each service page shows its starting price, and after a free consultation you get the exact price in writing.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. The first conversation and the quote are free and come with no commitment. We talk about your business, I ask what you need and you get a proposal with price and delivery date.
How does the process work?
Four steps: we talk (free), you get a quote, I design and build while you review, and we launch on your domain. After launch you get 30 days of free support.
How do payments work?
It depends on the size of the project. Smaller projects are paid in full upfront, and larger ones in two parts: half to start and half before launch. Your quote says which one applies.
Should I get a website I can edit myself, or a custom-coded one?
If you want to edit content or run an online store yourself, I build it with an easy content dashboard. A coded site is faster and lighter, and works well for landing pages and sites that change little. I'll recommend one based on how you plan to use it.
Do I need a landing page or a full website?
A landing page is enough when you have one main offer and one action you want people to take. If you offer several services or need more content to be found on Google, a full website is the better choice.
How long does it take to build an online store?
Usually 3 to 6 weeks. The biggest factor is how ready your product photos, prices and descriptions are.
How long does a website take?
As a reference: landing pages take 1–2 weeks, business websites 2–4 weeks and online stores 3–6 weeks. It depends on the project and on how ready your content is, and the date goes in your quote.
Can my current website be fixed, or does it need a redesign?
Most websites can be fixed. I review yours first and tell you honestly which option gives you the result you want for less money.
Who handles my domain and hosting?
I do. I register the domain in your name and take care of hosting, security certificates and renewals, so you don't have to deal with any of it. The first year is included in your project; after that it's covered by the maintenance plan, or renewed at cost if you prefer. If you already have a domain and hosting and want to keep managing them yourself, that works too.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes, if we build it with a content dashboard: you'll be able to change text, photos and products, and I'll show you how. If it's a coded site, I make the changes for you.
What should I ask a web designer before hiring them?
Ask to see live projects, who will do the work, what's included in the price, how long it takes, who owns the domain, and what happens after launch. With WillNet: the projects are on the Work page, I do the work myself, and the rest goes in writing in your quote.
Do you work with clients outside Florida?
Yes. I'm based in West Palm Beach, FL, and work remotely with clients across the United States and Latin America, in English or Spanish.
